As a visitor I echo the misgivings of the traders in West Ardnamurchan in response to the proposals to substitue the current vehicle ferry on the Kilchoan/Tobermory route. I suspect that many drivers will not bother to undertake the journey from either the Corran Ferry or the Fishnish/Lochaline route. The effect will be to cut off the tourist potential of the area at the knees. I have written as requested to Mr Grieve and made comments on the approriate area in the ferry services questionnaire. As one who loves visiting the west coast, I have made comments on one or two other areas as well. However I consider the most important issue is that surrounding Kilchoan/Tobermory. I will still visit, but then I am an enthusiast.
