Kilchoan Kayaking Club - News

Evening sessions restart - but what day? We have skipped around the weekdays with our regular paddle, not quite sure which day to choose and trying not to conflicts with the host of activities that take place on a Kilchoan evening during the week. I can confirm that we are going back to WEDNESDAY 6.30pm by the jetty at the shop. We tried Tuesday but that doesn't work because it's Yoga night (which is great for your paddling by the way) and football practice appears to have moved to Tuesday also. I plan to be going out May 30th so hopefully see you then.

Club finances are looking good. We have just over £500 in the bank and can look at getting a boat for the club. However we need a bit more to get a boat that is capable of dealing with the Kilchoan coastline so can you please pay your subscription if you haven't already done so. I will be sending out a PayPal money request to those who haven't paid shortly. If you don't want to be a member, but you like to hear what's going on, just change your membership type to Friend of KKC.

Camping trips planned. At the last AGM we got a clear steer that the members wanted to go camping. Put 21st, 22nd July in your diary for the Kilchoan Camping Adventure. Its the day after the Sports Day so all will be rearing to go. Most probably be heading up Loch Sunart to find a suitable spot for overnight camping. Final route will be weather dependant but there are loads of options around Kilchoan. If you are going to be on holiday in Kilchoan at that time, let me know and we will see about getting a boat for you.

See you on the water,
Geoff Campbell
